Woodsum Spur

Oxford County, Maine hosts the Puzzle Mountain Trails and Woodsum Spur Trails. The Stewart Preserve is the starting point of the trail. This preserve was named in honor Bob Stewart, who donated his property the Mahoosuc Land Trust. Ken Woodsum is the trail's original name. He was a forester, conservationist and pioneer of the current trail.

Puzzle Mountain Trail is a loop hike that combines the Grafton Loop Trail and the Woodsum Trail. It offers spectacular views of western Maine. You can access the trail from the Stewart Family Preserve's Parking Lot, located just off Route 26.

The Mahoosuc Land Trust also owns a piece of land. It also bought the McCoy Chapman Forest, a 500-acre tract west Bethel, Maine that stretches from the Androscoggin River to Mahoosuc Range. The land was donated by the family of a former landowner, and is now available for year-round recreation. This project is a collaboration with the Friends of the Androscoggin.
